Hippie Hash

The Hippie Hash welcomes minors if parent/guardian is present. Minors are free, as it is presumed they will not drink and their food is included.

Through the collaborative efforts of many of your fellow Hashers, a  new perspective on Hashing has been born. Building off of and slightly modifying the original tenets, the Hippie Hash (also called The Gateway Hash) will embrace not just our physical fitness, but our spiritual health as well, with a central theme of community.

Our Tenets:

  • To promote physical AND spiritual fitness among our members.
  • To get rid of weekend hangovers and negative energy.
  • To acquire a good thirst and to satisfy it in WINE.
  • To persuade members that they are not as old as they feel.

The Hippie Hash is a ‘pot’luck hash. If you want to eat, bring something healthy and organic to share. Otherwise attendance is free. We also provide boxed wine for $2.

We meet at public parks the second Sunday of every month at 4:20 p.m, and run on average 4.20 miles with a WN (Wine Near) somewhere in the middle.

The Hippie Hash is family friendly and as such we tend to shy away from some extreme vulgarity and chauvinism. As such we have no boob, package, or motorboat checks (but we make up for it with our own unique checks you’ll only find at the Hippie Hash). Instead of trail crimes we celebrate the awesome contributions of those who setup the Hash and we end each circle in a group hug.

Unlike other hashes, there is no GM. Each month different Hashers volunteer to Hare and organize the event, we call them SA’s or Spiritual Advisors. This prevents the Hash from taking on the characteristics of one persons idea of what Hashing should be, and also keeps things fresh. We have our own unique ‘religion’ that we call ‘spirituality,’ and before every Hash we hold Hashy Yoga.

What you should bring: Yoga mat, head lamp, water, a whistle, a drinking vessel, ‘high’ expectations, a healthy and organic pot-luck dish to share if you would like to eat, and $2 if you want to drink our boxed wine.
